The brief
Water damage projects are the clearest demonstration of what general contracting actually is. Finishes are the last ten percent; sequence and structural honesty are the rest.
This illustrative study follows a single-level property from drying and demolition through subfloor replacement, sheetrock, cabinetry and trim — the same category of work described in the review from Dick on our reviews page.
What the project has to solve
Demolition before decisions
Nothing can be scoped accurately until wet material is out and the structure is dry. Sheetrock removal, insulation disposal and subfloor exposure come first, then the real scope becomes visible.
Framing and support you will never see
Compromised joists, sill plates and subfloor sheathing get replaced properly. Owners never see this work, which is exactly why it deserves the most attention.
Sequencing trades in a shared building
In condominium settings, access, dust containment, noise windows and association coordination shape the schedule as much as the trades themselves.
Social proof
Real client reviews
Unlike the study above, these are actual reviews from Destiny Home Construction clients.
Just finished my 3 Season Room. Such a detailed carpenter and took the time to give suggestions that made the room so much more than I ever imagined. The tiled floors are marvelous! Such a great experience!
Really cooperative, love their enthusiasm towards the job. 10/10
